ARTSPIRITS SPRING 2008

The custom artwork that was signed last summer is wrapped up and Ron is now completing an exciting new body of work for our Summer Tour 2008. Check it out at RECENT ART on the home page.

We’re starting in California June 7&8 with the Thousand Oaks ArtWalk, www.cvam.us, followed on the 14&15 in Northern California at the colorful Marin Art Festival at Lagoon Park. NOTE: We have a limited number of free passes for this show which is a $10 gate so let us know soon if you’ll be attending. We head south then for one of our favorite CA shows, the La Jolla Art Festival June 28&29 and then we have a mad dash from there to Breckenridge, CO for the Mountain Art Festival over a brilliant Fourth of July weekend. We’ll be at a new show in Edwards, CO, near Vail July 12&13 and then we get to go up to the Aspen Art Festival again for July 19&20. We’ll then head through the wildflowers to fabulous Breckenridge for a show July 25,26&27. Our Colorado extravaganza continues with a favorite once a year show in spectacular Beaver Creek August 2&3. We’ll wrap it up with a dynamic new show in the quaint town of Frisco, CO.

We hope you can join us at one of these fantastic shows. They each have their own flavor and selection of fine art. The summer tour is a joy for us traveling, presenting the new artwork, meeting clients and friends. Give us a call if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you!

NEW ARTWORK Ron has immersed himself in 3D Paintings that are creating quite a stir. Each features a canvas that he has built up with materials to give it dimensional depth. In most, this is camouflaged and at a distance it appears to be a two-dimensional painting. It’s all about surprise and illusions. Photos don’t do them justice so you’ll need to come to the shows or the studio to experience the full effect.

THE ANDERSON ART COLLECTIVE Both our sons, BENJAMIN and SEAN are professional fine artists making a name for themselves. Both have studios in Los Angeles. Benjamin is one of six people selected by Converse/Target for a national TV and magazine print campaign that will be released in the fall. Filmed on location in his studio, they interviewed him as one of their "all stars". His work was recently featured on London TV and will also be showcased on the Teen Choice Awards in early August. Sean has been selected to be in Santa Barbara's premier gallery, Sullivan Goss, in their September show "Ten Under Thirty". He is currently doing a monumental painting that will be featured in one of the Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Forum's theater productions in August.

THE YOUNGEST ANDERSON ARTIST! Biggest news since last summer is the arrival in November of Luke Dylan Anderson, our first grandchild! After meeting him, the Converse execs had tiny Converse tennis shoes made for him and included him in the shoot at Benjamin's studio.

KAHALA COLLECTORS CORNER The Anderson Clan had a treasured afternoon with Dale Hope who has once again taken over the reins at Kahala. While Tori Richards is not continuing the Artist Series that included the Ron Anderson Collection, Dale has asked him to start creating some new images for Kahala. Ron is working on ideas with Ben and Sean so stay tuned – there may be Anderson Family Kahala Aloha Shirts in the future. Pure aloha.

PRINTS AND GICLEES We found some archival quality prints of Ron’s paintings in the attic, most of them done in 2002. There are seven we’re making available to collectors: Big Sky/Hidden Hawaii/Hula Doll/Kaena Sunset/Solitude/The Gathering and Ukelele Lady. A rare opportunity so call for info: 805 680.0060

Earlier in the year a giclee (very high quality archival print on canvas) was created of Escape From Suppression, Ron’s contribution to the Artists for Human Rights United Nations show in New York. We were so impressed working with International Art that we have done three more images in very small editions that will be available for the summer tour.

NEW STUDIO Once we’re back from the summer tour, Ron will be working on the largest commission he has signed to date. We’ll also be moving the studio to a larger space, closer to the ocean. All our contact information stays the same and the studio will still be open by appointment. Give us a call if you’ll be coming through so we can be sure to be there. Have a memorable summer!
